DistributionApart from one doubtful old record from Staffordshire, the species is restricted to North Wales, the north of England and Scotland, where it is widespread on high ground. It is fairly widespread in north-western and central Europe.
Habitat and ecology
The spider is found under stones, on mountains and high ground. Adults are found in late summer and autumn (Locket & Millidge 1951).
Status
Very local.
Threats
In the longer term, climate change may adversely affect this, and other montane species.
